''Engine of a Million Plots'' is the sixth studio album by Christian ska band Five Iron Frenzy, which released on November 26, 2013, and it was brought about by a Kickstarter campaign to create an independent album. The album has earned critical acclamation from music critics.

''Engine of a Million Plots'' garnered critical acclaim by music critics. At ''HM'', Rob Houston affirmed it as being "such a great fresh breath of air."〔 Lee Brown of Indie Vision Music called the album a "strong () offering".〔 Andy Argyrakis of ''CCM Magazine'' and proclaimed that the "results find the horn-heavy troupe recharging and raring to rock, reclaiming its witty songwriting muse and proving there's still a place for these ska scene shapers a generation down the line."〔 At Jesus Freak Hideout, Michael Weaver evoked how the album gives evidence about how the band has changed over the last decade, yet this was not to be construed as being a bad omen for the album, which he wrote was "just not as good musically and lyrically as some past efforts () it is destined to be loved regardless."〔 Timothy Estabrooks felt that the band "still got it" with respect to this release.〔 Jono Davies at Louder Than the Music wrote that listeners are loving the new music from the band because the material is of excellent caliber, which has one song after another containing "raw energy".〔 At Patheos' blog Geek Goes Rogue, Zach Lorton said that the album features darkness in many aspect throughout the album, which was quite fun.〔 Ben Knight of Jesus Wired wrote that the album was "cohesive" and noted it features a "more mature" sound that does not go overboard.〔
